The Gospel's Indelible Effect

This chapter is an exposition of the character of the faith of which the Apostle Paul spoke when he described that the just shall live by faith. James makes it plain that true faith is that which produces spiritual works in the life. Without such evidence, James argues, there can be no assurance of salvation. Yet, James would have us to remember that faith precedes works. No work of the flesh can generate any ounce of faith in the soul.
