Potiphar's Wife Said Lie With Me - History of Joseph - 1807
Series The Narrated Puritan - T M S
When Joseph was tempted to this sin, he placed before his own eyes, and endeavored to place before his tempter's eyes, its extreme malignity. It is one great misery, that in a time of temptation, we lose the benefit of our knowledge, by a temporary forgetfulness that seizes upon our hearts, and renders us an easy prey to the devil. We are often surprised that men and women should make themselves, in one fatal moment, miserable for life, with their eyes open. But their eyes were not open at the time when they gave such a fatal stab to their fame and peace. Lawson, George. Lectures on the History of Joseph
