Promise Fulfilled Birth Part I

Theme: God is faithful to bring salvation to His people. God shows His faithfulness in protecting the line of David through which the Messiah would one day come. Though Ahaz was unfaithful to trust in the Lord's protection and instead aligned the nation with Assyria, God was faithful to preserve the kingly line of David and fulfill His promise to bring salvation through Jesus. A sign is given in Isaiah 7:14, and in Matthew 1:19-25, we see God's faithfulness in fulfilling it. In vv. 18-22, we see God sovereignly controls events, in v. 22b, we see God is faithful to fulfill His promises, in v. 22c, we see God's Word will come to pass, and in vv. 23-25, we see God came down to us.
