Colossians 3:18-21 - Marriage and Family: Foundations of Equality and Headship

Before looking at the details of Paul's instruction to wives, husbands, children, and parents in Colossians 3:18-21, it is necessary to look to Genesis 1-3 to see God's original intention and design for man and woman and marriage.

This sermon traces the development of God's original design and purposes from creation for husband and wife. The great and beautiful relationship between equality and headship in marriage is explained from Genesis 1-2. And then in Genesis 3 the effects of the abandoning of the proper order in marriage on the Fall and the resulting effects of the Fall on the marriage are instructively seen.
