Kindness

The Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness.

(1) Why can we be kind?

• Because God in His nature is kind (Ex. 34:5-7; Ps. 145:8, 13b, 17; Neh. 9:17; 2 Pet. 1:1-7).

(2) What does kindness look like?

• Being welcoming and hospitable (Rom. 15:7; 1 Pet. 4:9-10).

• Helping each other follow Jesus (Gal. 6:1-2).

• Speaking God's truth to each other (Eph. 4:25).

• Forgiving each other (Eph. 4:32).

• Loving each other (Luke 6:35; 10:29-37).

(3) What's the purpose of kindness?

• For people to turn to Jesus for salvation (Rom. 1:18-2:4).

• For people to see and savor Jesus (Eph. 2:4-7).

Truth to Remember:
God's kindness toward us should persuade us to show His kindness to others.
