The King Who Serves As Priest

Psalm 110 shows us that the LORD's subjection of all His coming King's enemies will display His choice of the King as His throne companion and high priest forever. The King overcomes all enemies and exercises God's sovereign rule as God's unique priest for His holy people.

1.The coming King as throne companion
of the LORD (1-3)

*Oracle: The LORD will enthrone the
King as co-absolute ruler with Him
(1)

*In this joint rule the King will
triumph over all his enemies with
his people (2-3)

2. The coming King as eternal high
   priest (4-7)

   *Oath: The LORD has irrevocably
   chosen His King as high priest
   forever (4)

   *The LORD will give His Priest-King
   victory in judgment over all
   nations (5-7)
