Secondary Uselessness

God speaks through Ezekiel again, and illustrates Israel's uselessness and failure using a metaphor of a vineyard carefully and loving planted, which yielded only wild, useless grapes. Even the wood of the grapevine is useless, as they have become. And worse yet, they have not responded to His discipline when they had a chance to do so! As those made in God's image, are we useless and unresponsive, with hard hearts, like Israel was?
