Away with Him

With the Roman soldiers at hand, the Jews stopped beating Paul. The Romans soldiers bind him with two chains as the prophesies that he heard at every city en route had prophesied. The commander of the Romans attempted to find out what Paul had done. When he could not find out from the crowd, the commander attempted to take him to the barracks. The people started crying "Away with him," just as they had done with Jesus Christ. Paul spoke to the commander to request to be allowed to speak to the crowd. When the commander realized that he is not the Egyptian murderer, he allowed Paul to address the crowd. In this passage, we see the confusion that leads to Paul's arrest. God demonstrates His will will be done, even if no one understands why they are doing it.
