New Beginnings

Pentecost's Promise (2.1-13) is the ministry of the Holy Spirit which began that day (baptism, indwelling, and filling). The prophecies of Joel (2.14-21) and David (2.25-35) point to Christ and prepare the Jewish people for the Gospel's proclamation. The purpose of the Lord in sending His Son to die was the redemption of mankind; the purpose of mankind in crucifying the Son was murderous. Both intersect at the cross (2.22-24). All of this paves the way for the proclamation of the Gospel (2.36-39) and the proliferation of the Church (2.40-47).
