Christian (and non-Christian), the scripture is the dearest thing which we can possess, because it is through the Bible (alone) that we are brought to a knowledge of who we are, of our state in the creation and before the creator, of our dire situation, and of the one and only true solution to that situation. It is the way that we know what is true and what is false, what is required, what is forbidden, what is to be believed and what is to be rejected.
