The Slow Process of Making Spiritual Leaders

Sermon: Luke 22:21-38

Introduction:

Theme: Step by step we see Jesus preparing His disciples for service in His kingdom and it will be done.

I. vv. 21-23 -- Those who have an unbelieving heart cannot serve in the Kingdom of God.

II. vv. 24-27 – In training the exalting of self can become a big stumbling block in the way of Kingdom ministry.

III. vv. 28-29 – Jesus gives praise and encouragement to His faithful followers.

IV. vv. 31-34 – Jesus encourages “getting back in the saddle again”

V. vv. 35-38 – Jesus instructs His disciples to be
alert to the times.
