Moving Towards Maturity

While the writer of Hebrews at the end of chapter 5 bemoaned that this Hebrew church was spiritually immature, he didn't simply resign himself to letting things stay status quo. No, instead he admonishes them to "go on to maturity". Now this command doesn't imply that they merely have the power in themselves to make this happen. No, this will happen by God's enabling power, as he says in 6:3, "if God permits".
