Christ Manifests Himself to the Father on Our Behalf
Series The Book of Hebrews
The centrality of blood in the first 22 verses of chapter 9 frames the writer's declaration in 9:23-24 that under the old covenant, blood had to continually flow in order to purify the worship of God's people. And that was because the blood of bulls and goats was merely a copy and shadow of the blood of Christ. But when Christ died, He ascended to the heavenly throne room and manifested Himself as one who has the right to be the true High Priest of God's people. The high priest who not only paid the atonement price but also continually pleads our case with utmost confidence before the Father.
