John "hears" Christ in His "Melchizedek" High Priest role fulfilling His promise to Peter that John would live to "see" Jesus' coming. John is commanded to Write what he sees giving us the book Revelation. The Church-cultural perspective gives us one last time to properly orient ourselves to understand Jesus' actual message to us. He is coming in spite of OUR failures.
