Marriage Reveals Christ

Dearly beloved congregation of our Lord Jesus Christ, Paul winds up his teaching on marriage this morning by quoting the Bible's seminal text on the subject, relating the truth to Jesus Christ in His marriage to the church, and then reducing the whole discourse to two highly practical commands, one for husbands and one for wives. It's an amazing piece of literary and theological art — just what we would expect to see when we are reading the very words of God Almighty. What I hope to show you from this text is that marriage makes a new family, and so you must do your part to accurately picture Christ in your marriage.
