A. What actually Occurred 2:1-13
1. Not pagans – but Jews, Proselytes and God-fearers.
2. They heard in their own language
B. Peter's Explanation of what Occurred 2:14-21
1. We are now in the “last days”.
2. The Holy Spirit would be poured out.
3. All flesh.
4. The Holy Spirits coming in the NT way would be evidenced by signs that show that Jesus had fulfilled the OT.
5. There are signs that had already occurred
6. Relevance to Peter's Jewish hearers
7. Whosoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.
C. Joel's Prophecy -- Joel 2:30-32
1. We should note that NT prophets essentially functioned in the same way as OT prophets.
2. Joel's prophecy comes in a context.
3. Joel sees the NT day
