The Basis of Worship

After instructing the second generation in their understanding of the third commandment, Moses moves in verse 22 to exhort them in their worship of the One, True God. Drawing on chapter 12, they are to bring a tenth of their crops and cattle to eat in the place God chooses for all Israel to gather for worship. This sermon directs the focus of our worship to God. He is both the source of our worship and the reason we worship. In this way, when we worship we offer back to God from what He has given to us.
