Satan hates marriage because it is an ordinance of God, therefore it is one of his primary targets. He uses his slaves, the unbelieving world, to subvert marriage on numerous fronts.

The Lord has particular commandments that husbands are to follow, and they do not include dominating their wives.

He has particular commandments that wives are to follow, and they do not include dominating their husbands.

But doesn't the Bible say the husband rules the family, and the wife submits to her husband?

Some modern evangelical men have used these verses unbiblically to justify making their wives virtual slaves, copying not the Biblical family but that of paganism.

Some wives, on the other hand, unbiblically dominate and rule their husbands.

Both of these sinful behaviors are the result of the Fall. Feminism and "male chauvinism" can only produce sorrow for both men and women, because they violate God's law-order.
