The Threefold Cord of Missions

William Carey, the father of modern missions admonished his board of directors, “If you will hold the rope, I will descend the pit to bring them out.” Modern missions is carried out by a cord of three stands – Those Who Go; Those Who Pray; and Those Who Give. By emphasizing this we greatly increase the involvement in our churches and in the body of Christ as a whole in terms of missions. Each cord is viewed by God as of equal importance – sharing equally in both the responsibility and the rewards.
