Anguish

Those who grow in appreciating the security of God's love in Christ (Romans 8:38-39) should simultaneously grow in experiencing sorrow over those who still reject God's love in Christ (Romans 9:1-3). Joe points out that anguish over the unsaved--in fact, praying that we would be condemned for others' salvation--is biblical and Christlike, but impossible--Jesus alone is the mediator who was condemned so others could be saved.
