1Sam019 The King Has No Clothes!

As the narrative in 1 Samuel begins to descend in kingdom unrest as Saul pursues David's life, the Lord affects a spectacularly unexpected deliverance and gives Saul a shot of spiritual truth serum while He is at it. Instead of satisfying his bloodlust for David, Saul sovereignly comes under the power of the Holy Spirit and disrobes himself before Samuel and the school of prophets and prophesies for a day and a night. Meanwhile, as Saul seeks David's life, David seeks refuge in the Lord through prayer and seeking the word of God at the mouth of Samuel the prophet. This message compares the narrative of chapter 19 with Psalm 59 which provides real time insight into David's heart as he responds to this trial and provides application for the saints about how to deal with trials in a godly and spiritually mature way drawing on the righteous model which David provides.
