Live from the Lion's Den

The psalm before us is another powerful one. In it, David spiritually undergoes the same stresses in a cave with Saul that Daniel physically suffered in the lions' den. Surrounded by ravening men (or beasts), on the brink of destruction yet sustained by the LORD, the godly man's spiritual terrors overflow in praise from a steadfast heart. God delivers the king in response to His prayers, and the king in turn teaches us to properly praise the God who hears and saves.
