Discernment In Judgment

The Lord Jesus gives guidance on the way Christians are to coexist without being judgmental against one
another. Considered here was: 1) the principal prohibition (v1). Thus, a) the imperative command – in its
setting (contextual flow and cultural context) and the common-contemporary misuse of the three-word
command – "do not judge." However, the command, made more concisely demands–secondly; b) an
understanding of the imperative, linked to the rest of the injunction (1b-2). 2) The Theological
justification for the injunction (1b – 6), is based three (3) reasons. One of the three reasons considered
was: i) Due to the reason of reciprocity 91b – 2). Therefore, the need to being measured when passing
judgment.
