The Trembling Jailer

Paul and Silas were thrown into prison. They were amongst the prisoners singing hymns to God, while the prisoners were listening. All of the sudden the earth began to shake violently and the chains of all the prisoners fell off. The jailer, startled and frightened, thought quickly to take his own life for fear that all the prisoners had escaped. Paul told him not to harm himself, whereupon the jailer ran to Paul and said, "What must I do to be saved?" Paul's response was "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." The jailer did so and his life was transformed.
