2. Broken People Believe the Lord

This chapter of The Doxology of Broken People shifts focus from the initial call to praise to the absolute necessity of belief, even after salvation. Using Psalm 106 as a mirror, the text chronicles Israel's immediate failure to sustain faith following the miraculous deliverance at the Red Sea, a failure rooted in a chosen forgetfulness and lack of spiritual understanding. Despite their rebellion, God saved them for His own "name's sake" (reputation and covenant promise) and to display His mighty power (gĕbūrāh). The deliverance was an act of redemption (pādāh), buying them back from the enemy, which temporarily confirmed their belief (āman). The lesson for "broken people" is that a believing heart is maintained by actively and consciously remembering His salvation, recalling His power, and reflecting on His redemption daily to prevent the sin of forgetfulness.

*Error: God told Moses to tell Pharoah he was lifted up for this moment in history to demonstrate God's power; Exodus 9:16 is not about God lifting up Moses as misrepresented in this message.
