Prayer Meetings

CHS Sermon Review #3421

Charles Spurgeon sought to provide a Biblical rationale for the regular prayer meetings @ the Metropolitan Tabernacle. The modern churchman could ask the question, “Why are we doing this? Is it because of tradition, or is there Biblical warrant?”. The answer is found throughout the narrative of the book of Acts.

His outline: 1. The Apostolical history of meetings for prayer, 2. What are the uses of the prayer meeting, 3. What are the hindrances to the prayer meeting, 4. What should be the great object of the prayer meeting, and that for which we should seek the answer?
