Ecclesiastes - Your Breath, Your Choice

Because of the way most English Bible translations translate the main thematic Hebrew word ("hebel"), the book of Ecclesiastes has suffered greatly in the way the church and even pre-Christian Judaism understood and received and absorbed the point of this book.

But the emphasis is almost surely on not those negative connotations, but rather on the more fundamental meaning of that word "hebel": breath, vapor, mist.

We'll be exploring through this book the concept that life is transient, life is fleeting. And because of that truth, seen through the eyes of one of the wisest men who ever lived, we can wrestle with the reality that what you do with your breath is your choice.
