Psalm 27 is a psalm of comfort and confidence in the Lord in time of great trouble. It has a distinctive roller coaster ride from Bold Confidence (1-3) to Anticipating Prayer of Desire (4-5) to Anxious Prayer of Deliverance (6-10) to Quiet Confidence (11-14). Because the Lord is my Light, my Salvation, and the Strength of my Life I can trust and rest in Him while waiting on Him in time of great trial.
