The Seriousness of Church Membership (part-1)

Christians should take membership in a local Bible preaching/teaching congregation seriously. Unfortunately church has become more like one of the local civics clubs without the commitment one would expect from a group of people who profess to have received Christ as their Savior. The church has become more about "what can you do for me", instead of what am I to do, as the church, to reach the lost in the name of Jesus. There are expectations of every church member, and are we willing to set aside our misconceptions about what we think the responsibilities are, and implement what God's word says we should be doing as members in a local congregation of believers?
