Reading, Understanding, and Doing

The Children of Israel gathered on the first day of the seventh month to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets, approximately 93 years after the return from exile. Nehemiah 8 does not mention anything concerning the sounding of trumpets, but instead focuses on the people of God dedicating themselves to the hearing, understanding, and doing of God's Word.
