Sacrament, Salvation & Union With Christ

We now consider the term "sacrament" so as to understand the relationship between the symbol & the thing signified. "Salvation" is considered in light of the Table - a salvation which envelops our full humanity & our entire universe. The Table, which fixes our faith upon the body & blood of Jesus, directs us to the hope of the resurrection & the new heavens & earth. "Union with Christ" is how we experience salvation & is central to our observation of the Supper. The faith which we exercise at the Table is a faith focused on Christ & the elements of the Table serve to sacramentally signify our union with Christ - not union with His teachings only, or with the rituals of worship, but union with Jesus Himself in the fullness of Him who is our incarnate, crucified, resurrected, exalted & soon-to-return-in-glory Lord.
