Being Ready to Give a Defense

This evening Pastor John Peront teaches from 1 Peter 3:13-16 on the command to believers to be ready to give a defense of our hope to any and all who ask for a reason. He shows from the passage that the Christian's readiness must begin with right conduct and a clean conscience, without fear of man but, rather, with trust in God, and, ultimately, with sanctifying the Lord in our hearts; after these are done we can be ready to speak a word of defense for the faith, though not in the heat of contention, but calmly and collectedly for the glory of God and for the salvation of souls.
