Guarding the Deposit of God's Truth

The Church as God's family is to be the pillar and support of the truth There are many imperatives, things that must or must not be done delineated in Paul's first letter to Timothy. Reject worldly fables. Discipline yourself for the purpose of Godliness. It is imperative that you prescribe and teach these things. There is no excuse for not doing the right thing. Give attention to reading the Scripture, exhortation, and teaching. Don't neglect your gift, have the willingness to do it. This is your life--be in these things. Persevere in these things. Take hold of eternal life.

The urgent business of the Church is to guard the sound words that are entrusted to you. Like a bank you are to preserve the deposit of God's gospel. Teach the Word as God gave it. Don't have anything to do with false teachers. We don't have to be negative, but we do have to be biblical.
