Reasons Why People Doubt Their Salvation and How They Can Have A Full Assurance Pt 1
Series Foundations of Full Assurance
Throughout history there have been many who have denied that Christians can and should be assured of their salvation.
As a matter of doctrinal dispute the would deny Eternal Security, and therefore any Idea of Assurance, and they certainly deny the Doctrine of the perseverance of the saints, or more rightly the perseverance of God in the saints.
Many passages however affirm these truths, for example Heb. 6:11,17-19; 2 Pet. 1:4,5,10,11; 1 John 3:1-3.
There are many Whom have a faulty Assurance of Salvation.
They believe that if they affirm Jesus Christ, then that is all they ever need.
Many hold that Salvation is attained by the work and effort that they place into it.
Still others believe that any Assurance will lead to unholy living and compromise.
While there are many who believe that they believe, and they find their assurance in their belief.
There are those who have assurance of salvation, who have no right to that assurance because they are falsely assured.
That does not have to be the case, but unfortunately in the modern preaching today there is a strong emphasis of the easy believism that has damned and hardened so many souls.
So in this series we want to bring the hearer to a full assurance of salvation or to an understanding that they are not saved, and must run to Christ for salvation.
