Church Discipline: An Earnest Warning to the Unruly
Series 2 Thessalonians
The Apostle moves from the lofty great truths of God directing our hearts into the Love of God and Steadfastness of Christ, to Practical Christian living.
Some in Thessalonica had become unruly and idle as a result of confusion over the day of the Lord, which Paul addressed in chapter 2.
Paul commands the church to 'keep away' from those who are unruly, undisciplined, and were UNWILLING to work. The church has a responsibilty to care for those unable to care for themselves.
Paul, Timothy and Silas had set a good example of hard work while with them (1Thess 2:9. Paul waived his 'right' to support, so that he could set a good model for them.
