Jesus Alone Has Authority to Save

Luke's main point in this section is that Jesus alone has the authority to save sinners, reconciling them to God. Joe demonstrates how this chapter in Acts is a microcosm of the entire message of Luke's history: "The crucified, risen, and ascended King is working for the progress of the gospel through simple preaching of prayerful disciples who are empowered by God's Spirit. This progress can't be stopped, not even by persecution." The sermon concluded with an encouragement to be bold for the gospel no matter what the opposition and with prayer for our persecuted brother Andrew Brunson.
