Times Have Changed

Past Acceptance (v35) – Earlier the disciples were received well and could count on the provision of others.

Present Opposition (v36) – But now they will face opposition and must be prepared with their own provisions.

Reason for Change (v37) – They are identified with Jesus who will suffer rejection & death according to God’s revealed purpose.

Misunderstood Conflict (v38) – The disciples misunderstand Jesus’s call to readiness and alertness.
