Apollos: Mighty in the Scriptures

Apollos was described as "Mighty in the Scriptures." But what does this mean? In a general sense, it means we need to know, understand, and be able to articulate what the Bible teaches. Specifically, it means we understand both the Old and New Testaments from a New Covenant perspective. Apollos lived in a transitional time. He clearly knew the Old Testament well, but still needed further teaching to understand the gospel of Christ. Priscilla and Aquila took him aside and explained the way of God more accurately. And Apollos received this instruction. Like him, we should be teachable and seek to be "mighty in the Scriptures."
