The Marriage of the Lamb

The upcoming marriage of Jesus Christ and His chosen and redeemed bride is here revealed to John the apostle as part of "the things which shall be hereafter."

The likeness of the bridegroom and bride is used throughout the Bible, going back to the first marriage which was performed by God in the beginning in the garden of Eden. Eph. 5:25-33 Song of Songs 2:1-4; 8:14 II Cor. 11:2 John 3:26-33 A bride ought to be the chief ornament and treasure of her husband. She, by her behavior, reputation, and faithfulness, causes him to be exalted and honored. The church is, by her behavior, to cause her Lord and Head, her Bridegroom and Savior, to be exalted and honored. Matt. 5:14-16
