II. Love one another because you have been purified (1:22a) “Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart…”

III. Love one another because you have been born again (1:23-25) “since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God…”
a. Love one another because you have been given a gospel seed.
b. That gospel seed is imperishable.
