The Great Council at Jerusalem

Dr. John Whitcomb shares insights into the decisions of the Jerusalem Council in this new sermon from his ongoing series on Acts, which he gives every year at the Independent Fundamental Bible Conference in Middletown, Conn. Our teacher explains how the Apostle Paul, undaunted by persecution, had gone back to strengthen the faith of his converts, thus showing us the incredible importance of Scriptural teaching and discipleship. However, when doctrinal questions were raised by believing Jews, an opportunity also arose for the Lord God (through the apostles) to clarify the similarities and differences between Israel and the church and their respective laws and forms of worship and discipline. Dr. Whitcomb discusses the council's advice, which was given for the good of all Christian brethren, and explains the amazing results of this watershed event in the book of Acts.
