The Third Commandment and the Use of God's Name

We can take God’s name in vain in a myriad of ways. When we employ holy things on our lips in a common, irreverent way, or blasphemous way, we take God’s name in vain. We take His name in vain when we make a hypocritical profession of Christ and when we continually order our lives contrary to God’s Word.
