Zechariah's First Burden - Shepherding the Flock of Slaughter

This section of Zechariah's first burden involved another physical prophecy in which the prophet was directed to play the role of a shepherd. In this role he was modeling the Lord's own work of shepherding the flock of Israel - a flock whose apostasy had rendered it a "flock of slaughter." The nation had been given over to slaughter in the past and it was appointed for another such day.
