Mosaic Covenant- Law and Grace

The children of Israel have made their way to Mount Sinai. God wants HIs people to stand out in the midst of the many cultures in the region. Here​to fore, God had only made unconditional, irrevocable covenants with His people​, e.g. with Adam, Noah, and Abraham. However, ​with Moses and the Israelites, God makes ​the one and only conditional covenant in Scripture where the people have to obey HIs voice ​t​o enjoy the blessing of God. This so-called Mosaic Covenant provide​s Israel with a guide as to how to ​consecrate themselves and be different from all the other nations of the earth. While their relationship with God is still dependent on the grace and redemption God has given them through HIs unconditional covenant with Abraham, under the Mosaic Covenant God would ​make them His own possession among all the peoples on earth, if indeed they obey HIs voice and keep His covenant.
