The Benefit of Trials

James tells us that trials are to be faced joyfully because there is a benefit to us. This is not some kind of make believe, or pretend, nor is it some mantra of "don't worry, be happy." There is a reason to consider trials joyfully (though we may shed significant tears) and we are also instructed what to do while in the trial. There is also a warning of what not to do in trials. All of this is based upon the character of God as James reminds us.
