DAVID: Shepherd, Psalmist, Soldier

The youngest son of Jesse knew how hard it could be to fit in. David was in the field with his sheep when Samuel arrived to anoint the next king of Israel. His older brothers got to go out with Saul to fight the Philistines; David had to bring the food for his brothers. His oldest brother questioned his motives.

Yet the shepherd boy trusted God. God gave him musical abilities and he became "the sweet Psalmist of Israel." He turned his experiences as a shepherd into Psalm 23 where he recognized the Lord was his shepherd.

David also was a soldier who trusted God to win his battle with Goliath.

Trust God. Use your talents to praise God and glorify Him!
