The Blood of the Covenant That God Commanded for You

In 9:18-20, the writer reiterates the Biblical covenantal truth: No covenant is "inaugurated without blood". According to the writer of Hebrews, the old covenant was inaugurated with the blood of bulls and goats. That is, the whole of the animal sacrifices.

But then in the new covenant, it was inaugurated with Christ's own blood. However, the writer wants to emphasize that both covenants were inaugurated by the same party, the Son as deity who spoke the command to Moses and then as the human Jesus Christ at the last supper.
