Looking Unto Jesus (Heb 12:1-13)
Introduction
This is a book which both teaches us how to run and encourages us to run.

1. Run with endurance, looking to the Son (v. 1-4)
   Remember the hostility he endured, lest you also become discouraged.

2. Remember the encouragement, addressing you as sons (v. 5-11)
   'The job of a coach is to make men do what they don't want to do, in order to be what they've always wanted to be' (Tom Landry).

Conclusion: Strengthen your parts and straighten your paths (v. 12-13)
'I have finished the race... Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing' (2Tim 4:7-8).
