From Far to Near

Theme: Believers should reflect on how far they've come in their new relationship with Christ.
In vv. 11-12, we see that we began far from Christ. In application, we need to remember not to be haughty and to remember the dreadful state in which we all found ourselves. We were without Christ, citizenship, promise hope, and God. Verse 13 teaches us that we end near to Christ! In application, we need to remember now Christ has changed our relationship. As we see that we were in such a plight, let us remember that we have nothing to be prideful for, but our boast is in Christ. Let us remember and give thanks to God for His grace in our lives and for His love and mercy. Let us pray for and tell those who have never heard of His grace!
