He'll Teach You to Walk
I'll tell you something about me. When I came to Jesus, I didn't know one book of the Bible. If you told me to find Hosea or Isaiah, I'd look at you like a deer in headlights. My daddy didn't raise us in church — he raised us to hunt, fish, and play ball. They gave us everything but didn't teach us about Jesus.
When I got saved, I didn't know hymns, I didn't know Scriptures — but I knew Jesus had interrupted my life with His grace. And I remember the day I found Proverbs 16:3. I said, "Lord, I'm a dummy. I don't know nothin'. But You know everything. So teach me how to walk with You."
And I committed to Him — and He committed to me.
I went to Sunday school, sat in the back, and listened to men who sounded like giants of the Word. I just listened. And within six months, the same men I was learning from started asking me questions about the Bible! Not because I was smart — but because I believed God would do what He said.
When you commit your works to the Lord, He'll establish your thoughts.
When We Walk by Human Precept
Now, look at Hosea 5:11. God said, "Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked by human precept."
In other words, Israel chose man's word over God's Word. And God said, "Because of that, I'll be to them like a moth and like rottenness."
Now think about that. What does a moth do in your house? It eats away at what was once strong. What does rot do in flesh? It spreads and decays until you have to cut it out.
And that's what happens when we choose man's thinking over God's. We start pushing out the things of God. We start removing ourselves from His Word and the things associated wit
